Pearls are formed when a little grit enters a clam shell. The clam secretes a substance called nacre and coats the grit over and over and over again. The iridescent white nacre grows by fractions of amounts, day by day, to become a pearl. The pearl could not exist without the initial irritant that entered the shell. There would be nothing to coat and transform. 

We cannot control where we started in life, nor many of the things that happen to us. Bt we can choose what to do with what we have, and what to do with pain that's been caused. We can choose to allow it to defeat us, to make us bitter, to turn us numb. Or, we can choose to transform it into something beautiful. Either by acting on it in the opposite way, or by setting it down and creating life anew from there. 

If we choose to do the former, the ones who caused the pain won, and everyone else loses. If we choose to do the latter, you get the best you, and the world does, too.

These unique pieces combine a background painting with one or several natural semi-precious stones to create a personal mantra in symbolism, colors, and stone properties. Resembling rocks in a river, each piece is carefully encased in resin and cured to create a long lasting setting and finish.
