Solid Sterling Silver Pendant.

We searched many artisans throughout Mexico for a beautiful Aztec Calendar, and were lucky to find this incredibly detailed pendant in Taxco, Mexico.

Crafted of Sterling Silver, this pendant is 26 mm, or approximately 1 inch in diameter. The back of the pendant is smooth and polished to a high shine.

The Aztec calendar was the calendar of the Aztec people of Pre-Columbian Mexico. It is one of the Mesoamerican calendars, sharing the basic structure of calendars from throughout ancient Mesoamerica.

Also called the Mayan Calendar, it is divided into cycles and has been the subject of many theories regarding the "end of the world" on December 21, 2012.

An interesting article regarding the calendar is here:

Some scholars believe the "end of the world" is not the end of the world, but rather the end of the world as we know it.

The dawn on the age of Enlightenment is said to come following the end of this, the Industrial Era. With it, a release from burden, hard work, and the economic system.

Rather than be fearful of the new Era, many people welcome it. They are looking forward to a new world, in which suffering is left behind, universal peace, and harmony among all people are the new normal. Please click on the thumbnail photos to see the amazing artistry close up.
